I have created a series of piano lessons for kids with my Introduction to Piano course. The course is for kids between the ages of 5 and 10 and gives them a taster of what learning the piano is all about! It makes a great birthday or Christmas gift for a child or grandchild. Why is the piano lessons for kids course a good idea?
For a lot of parents, committing to weekly piano lessons for their child is a daunting prospect for many reasons. It’s a big investment time-wise and financially, and many parents often don’t have a clear view of what is involved until their child is already in their first lesson with a teacher. I have created this course to bridge that gap.
At the end of this course, your child (and you!) will have been introduced to the joys of making music in a fun and creative way. I want to give your child the basic skills they need to develop a relationship with the piano, and a lifelong love and curiosity of music.
This course totals 6 lessons, with approximately 15-20 minutes of teaching and 5-10 minutes of practise time in each.
The first lesson of the course is FREE and is available to view here:

What will my child need for the course?
- A piano or keyboard – at this stage, a smallish keyboard with unweighted keys is sufficient
- A chair or stool (preferably adjustable, but this isn’t essential – cushions can be used if necessary to get the right height)
- Piano Adventures course book (see below) – the lessons will include activities in and out of the book
Online lessons should never be a substitute for a face to face teacher, but this course will give your child basic skills and an understanding of the piano – with a view to getting them excited about it before they start lessons!
